Job Description: 2 Year  Electrical Distribution upgrade of a VA  hospital in Seattle, WA
Position: Site Safety Manager 
Position Summary: Manage Safety and Health for Electrical Subcontractor on electrical distribution upgrade of a hospital. 
Minimum Job Requirements: 
 One of the following: Bachelors Degree in Safety, CHST, CSP, Federal OSHA Professional Certificate
 Minimum 5+ years in construction safety management 
 OSHA 500 Construction required 
 Ability to work independently, strong communication skills with ability to influence behaviors 
 Experience in managing subcontractors and other safety coordinators 
 Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) 
 Safety certification is desired. 
Essential Job Functions: 
 Support Crew Foreman/General Foremen in development of Job Hazard Analyses and an overall Project Safety Roadmap/Site Safety Plans (as   applicable). 
 Evaluate effectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks. Regulatory compliance and audit oversight. 
 Meet regularly with field personnel and assist them in the development of project specific corrective action plans to address safety issues and concerns 
 Provide regular feedback to project leadership in a constructive manner on needed areas for safety improvement and recognition. 
 Provide coaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors, and provide recognition for employees exhibiting safe behaviors. 
 Develop site specific safety orientation content in conjunction with project leadership. 
 Assist with delivery of jobsite specific safety orientations for new employees joining the project, as applicable. 
 Conduct or facilitate safety training, testing and record keeping for all employees (HazCom, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tag out, etc.) 
 Support Project Leadership in completion of incident investigations. 
 Provide regular feedback to Project Team on safety areas for improvement and recognition. Assist in the development of project-specific corrective action plans to address safety issues occurring in the field. 
 Facilitate/manage all injury/illness cases. (I.e. ensure injured employees are transported/accompanied to local medical facility by a management representative, ensure management representative is present to interface with medical care providers to review proposed, etc.) 
 Meet with appropriate field management ASAP to ensure proper post incident case management. 
 Perform periodic evaluations of power tools and equipment (i.e. scissor lifts, forklifts, fall protection, laser levelers, etc.) to ensure equipment is being maintained in good working order, as applicable. 
 Support Project Leadership in the development and execution of weekly toolbox safety meetings. 
 Attend the assigned safety meetings each morning: 
 Ensure that meetings are taking place daily 
 Audit for continuity of topics to be discussed 
 Evaluate the ability of the foreman to convey safety information and provide coaching as needed 
 Evaluate the participation of the crew and/or whether the foreman gave them an opportunity to do so. 
 Evaluate meetings and provide feedback to Project Leadership on effectiveness.
